AN $18 million development bringing more than 100 apartments to Fremantle’s West End has opened its doors just in time for summer tourists.
Quest Fremantle has 122 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments on Pakenham Street, incorporating modern elements with the heritage façade of the original early 1900s building.
The Sirona Capital development joins the recently opened Hougoumont Hotel and the DoubleTree Hotel, which is yet to begin construction, as new accommodation offerings to entice tourists to play and stay in Fremantle rather than travelling back to Perth.
Quest Fremantle franchisee Bram Newbold said it provided travellers with a much-needed accommodation option in the area.
“I believe the location is ideal for ensuring success, positioned in the heart of Fremantle, one of Western Australia’s most popular tourist destinations and one of Lonely Planet’s 2016 top 10 cities,” he said.
“The existing 1920s heritage facade is integrated with the new building and represents Fremantle’s capacity to combine the old with the new; the building holds significant heritage value and has now been repurposed to provide accommodation to both business and leisure travellers within the newly developed area,” Mr Newbold said.
