Project value: $270 million
Kings Square comprises the Myer Centre, Queensgate building and Car Park, Spicer site, City of Fremantle Administration buildings and surrounding public spaces.
The Kings Square Fund purchased the Myer Centre in 2012, a former department store at the centre of Fremantle’s CBD. The opportunity to reposition this asset for better use and activate the heart of the city now includes a fully-integrated 25,000sqm twin campus office, retail and car park development that involves multiple adjoining City-owned sites.
The development will support Fremantle tourism, arts and culture, heritage, small business growth and local community outcomes. It also delivers a 7,500sqm civic precinct that will house a new Administration Centre and City Library.
Having secured a substantial tenant pre-commitment, construction will commence by mid-2017, with office and retail spaces available for occupation by the end of 2019.
