SOMERSAULT events are bringing the Margaret River night to life with a series of night markets.
The first night market will be held on January 23 at Memorial park and promises to be a cool, relaxed evening filled with live music and multicultural food.
Organisers, Katrina Lombardo and Michelle Dowding are exciting to get the new venture under way.
“I run the farmers markets and I’ve always wanted to create something in the heart of town,” Ms Lombardo said.
“So I’ve been toying with this idea for a few years and after only a few hiccups it’s finally underway.”
Ms Dowding has always had a passion for events and so jumped on the chance to create something a bit different in Margaret River.
“The first thing we did was ask the RSL if they minded us using Memorial park and they were so excited,” Ms Dowding said.
“They told us they would be the first people there on the night.”
The pair hopes that the night markets will allow local families and visitors to come down to the park, have a picnic and enjoy the centre of town.
“People can come from the main strip to the park, enjoy the music and the atmosphere and then continue along through town.” Ms Lombardo said.
“It’s all about a flow on effect to get people enjoying everything in the centre of Margaret River.”
The ladies are excited to get the markets underway and encourage everyone to come down and have a look.
“We couldn’t have done it without our sponsors, Margaret River Shopping Centre and Trade Hire.”
